1st PAN-HELLENIC GAMES, ATHENS GREECE
It is with great excitement and anticipation that we start preparations for the 1st PAN-HELLENIC GAMES, that will be held in Athens.
My inspiration for organizing the Pan-Hellenic Games comes from my personal experience when I competed at various young Greek-American sporting events growing up in Boston, Massachusetts. I treasure the memories and enjoy many friendships which I made during those fun, competitive years. I am certain that many athletes and participants of Hellenic heritage will have the opportunity to have similar experiences through these Games.
Athens represents an ideal location for the Games. Our involvement in delivering major events is complemented by world-class and easily accessible venues used in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, a variety of quality accommodations and beautiful historic attractions that will appeal to athletes, coaches, friends and supporters from all over the world.
I have been overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasm of our Hellenic overseas community and I strongly believe that participation will be embraced with equal zeal.
We are excited, honored and look forward in demonstrating how well we can deliver an event of this magnitude that will leave lasting memories and further the bonds between people of Hellenic heritage with the land of their forefathers.
